Associate Editor David A. Waldman
Professor of Management Arizona State University ![]() David A. Waldman received his Ph.D. from Colorado State University in industrial-organizational psychology. Previously, he taught at SUNY-Binghamton and at Concordia University in Montréal. He currently is a professor and Chair of the Department of Management in the School of Global Management and Leadership at Arizona State University, and an affiliated faculty member of the Department of Management of the W.P. Carey School at Arizona State University. His research interests focus largely on leadership across levels of analyses, especially strategic leadership and leadership in virtual contexts. In addition, many of his efforts have been interdisciplinary in nature, involving colleagues from areas such as operations management, strategy, economics, information systems, accounting, and finance. Professor Waldman's accomplishments include approximately 80 scholarly and practitioner articles or chapters in such journals/series as the Journal of Applied Psychology, the Academy of Management Journal, the Academy of Management Review, the Academy of Management Executive, the Academy of Management Learning & Education, Personnel Psychology, Research in Personnel and Human Resources Management, the Journal of Vocational Behavior, Human Resource Management, the Journal of Organizational Behavior, the Journal of Management, The Leadership Quarterly, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, Research Policy, and the Journal of Engineering and Technology Management. In addition, he has published a book on 360-degree feedback. He has amassed approximately $450,000 in grant money from various external foundations and agencies, and is currently on the editorial boards of the Academy of Management Journal and The Leadership Quarterly, and formerly on the boards of the Journal of Applied Psychology and the Journal of Organizational Behavior. He is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association, as well as the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology. He has consulted for a number of Fortune 500 companies and governmental agencies in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
